Herbs
I love drying my own herbs. Here we have rosemary, oregano, and sweet basil. I planted my oregano and basil plants last Spring. My rosemary was planted back in Spring 1997. The herb dryer is inexpensive,(from Amazon), and was installed by my husband. My jars are re-used Trader Joe's herb jars,(baby food jars also work well for herbs). These are great in gift baskets. My next batch, (hanging up on my herb dryer right now), is fresh mint; brought over from my mother's garden in Brentwood, CA. I love to use my rosemary for tea, in addition to cooking. It can be brewed alone or with green tea for a caffeine and/or antioxidant boost. The herb has anti-inflammatory properties which I find helpful for my chronic migraine, oh, and it tastes good too.

A Fabulous Find
I was thrift shopping out of town this last weekend and I came across the fabulous sweater. It is a Amina Rubinacci per Jean Halm PARIS. It is a wonderful thick wool and it has warm, SOFT pockets,(I adore clothing with pockets). It instantly reminded me of the quite famous "Fernanda" sweater by Missoni, featured in the September issue of Lucky. Fortunately, I have a photographic memory,(although it has become quite selective with my advancing age), and I was able to pull up the article as soon as I got home with the sweater. I initially wanted to buy the sweater for my store but once I put it on I fell in love. The way the arms and waist fit were much more like the Missoni than the sweater resembled on the hanger. I wore it on Monday 2/20/12 with a plum belted dress from "Mark" that was featured in "30 Days of Outfits", in the September 2011 issue of Redbook. I also wore a pair of Jaclyn Smith ankle booties, purchased at Kmart, (a blue light special indeed), in Scotts Valley, California. Next time I wear the sweater I plan to pair it with a gorgeous 70's slip-dress, (purchased for me from a thrift store by my 8-yearold daughter), and bronze faux-snake-skin sandals. Fashion rules state that only one vintage item is to be worn at a time, but the slip-dress is a current 2012 Spring trend, so it doesn't count? Regardless I have never really been good at following rules in life.
